Natural Renewal: Restorative Herbs + Foods For Springtime Support

  • Honorable Harvest Tea & Apothecary 304 Main Street Lyons, CO, 80540 United States (map)

Join local Herbalist & Holistic Health Practitioner Madeline Hoffman for a 4-week class series rooted in seasonal wellness and immune resilience 🌿

Winter often brings fewer fresh, seasonal foods, which can slow digestion and liver function, contributing to stagnation & metabolic waste buildup. Our liver, kidneys, & lymphatic system have the difficult task of ensuring we remain healthy and get the most from our nutrition during the colder months.

Spring is the season of renewal. This transitional timeoffers an ideal window to support our bodies through cleansing, nourishing, & revitalizing herbs and food, plus an opportunity to release what no longer serves us.

Around this time of the year, buzzwords like "detox" & "spring cleanse" run rampant. In this series, we’ll dive into what it truly means to detox your body safely and in a way that works with your elimination pathways, not against them.

With seasonal illnesses still circulating, spring allergies on the rise, and many of us emerging from winter feeling depleted, this is a powerful time to gently rebuild immunity and restore vitality as we prepare for the season of growth ahead.

We’ll work directly with spring tonics like Stinging Nettle & Dandelion, immune-revitalizing herbs like Lemon Balm & Thyme, and make infused honeys & herbal glycerites to build out your at-home apothecary. We’ll also explore food as medicine through mineral rich broths, spring pestos, & culinary herbalism.

Class Breakdown: What To Expect

  1. Healing Herbs:  Antiviral, antibacterial, & herbs to revitalize you. Learn about nutritive tonics, gentle cleansing herbs, and bitters to replenish your body and restore your energy post-winter.

  2. Vitamins, Minerals, + Supplements (& Healing Herbs continued): Learn effective, proven methods to build lasting immunity to support you through spring with symptoms like allergies, GI disorders, acute illness, stagnation & more.

  3. Food as Medicine: A guide to using food as medicine to boost your immunity so that you not only avoid illness & allergies, but thrive through the seasons. Think: seasonal broths, dandelion pestos, kitchen witchery, safe and effective detoxification and cleansing guidance, a deeper understanding of why certain foods are in season, & culinary herbs from garden to kitchen.

  4. Medicine Making:  Learn how to make immune-fortifying infused honey & healing herbal glycerites with locally grown herbs like Thyme and Nettle Leaf to build out your at-home apothecary.

This series is crafted to help you reconnect with the plants and foods growing around us, live in greater seasonal rhythm, and discover accessible tools to build long term health as we move from winter into springtime.

The best part? Many of these herbs are growing in our backyards. We begin in April at Honorable Harvest Apothecary in Lyons! I hope to be able to share a little bit of the medicine I have gathered along my plant path with you.
