WHAT THE PLANTS GAVE BACK (TO ME).
This series stemmed from a deep, communal need for nourishment, for connection to self, to other, and to the land we inhabit.
In navigating my own journey through grief, loss, and healing from a chronic illness, I lost myself. It was by way of the plants, and the deep healing they offer, that I came back to my true essence.
During a crisis within my intimate community last summer, I brought forward medicines like wild rose-infused honey, lemon balm glycerite, and a calming herbal tea blend to tend to our shaken hearts and nervous systems. These offerings felt like second nature to me, but I realized that wasn't the case for many in my community. After working with these medicines, my friend Sean asked me to bring a series like this to form, & so began The Medicine Picnic.
The plants serve as a sacred green bridge, bringing us back into relationship with the land, and in turn, back into deeper inner-standing, compassion, and wholeness within ourselves.
This is my why... I believe that plant medicine is medicine for the people, and everyone deserves that homecoming.
THE MEDICINE PICNIC: HEART MEDICINE EDITION
Together in community, we’ll work with plant medicines, connecting us more deeply to the heart space, honoring both grief and love.
We’ll explore traditional uses of these medicines, as well as their spiritual, energetic, and healing properties, and make beautiful medicines.
Learn plant allies, nourishment practices, and holistic remedies to help you move from a place of love during trying times.
Collectively, we are holding so much. Personally, you may be too. I’m presently stepping out of a deep grief portal, which makes this class all the more resonant.
This is an intentionally cultivated space to be witnessed, feel, express, sing, learn, & move through the full spectrum of emotions together, held by the plants and like-minded community.
we will explore:

ABOUT YOUR TEACHER:
Madeline is a certified herbalist and holistic health practitioner who supports people with chronic health conditions and mystery symptoms to heal naturally using food and herbs as medicine.
Drawing from her work as a local medicine maker, land tender, health coach, and herbal farmer at Earthstar Farm in Boulder, she teaches her community how to reclaim their health and reconnect with the wisdom of the plants and the greater web of the natural world we are inherently a part of.
After navigating deep-seated grief, chronic Lyme disease, and Epstein-Barr virus early on her path, she turned to the earth to restore her well-being.
These experiences became the catalyst for deepening her education in herbal medicine, nutrition, and holistic wellness, so she could help others come home to their body's innate ability to heal.
At the heart of Madeline's work is the core belief that the body can heal, no matter the circumstance, when met with compassionate care, devotion, and faith in the process. Since 2022, she has guided her local and virtual community back into wellness and wholeness through natural healing modalities.
